Restoration

I am going to publish my restoration progress on this site occasionally.

My Mercedes was delivered to the NSDAP liaison office in Prague on October 17th 1942.
That was a dark chapter in German history… accordingly the first color of the 170V was
tan green (even though this is not a military model). It was painted red later on and finally
white. I guess I am not going to paint it tan green again…




The paint-history is obvious around the ID-plate.




This is how it looks like about 70 years later.
Even though all that’s left from the roof is the frame, the car is in pretty decent shape and almost complete.

I am going to start with the frame...




I did completely disassemble the frame, but for now I am occupied by my job again, so it will last years, before I can restart this project.

At his age, the Mercedes can easily wait a few more years…
